2014 Olivier Award Winners

The winners have been announced for the 2014 Olivier Awards, which took place yesterday at London’s Royal Opera House, hosted by Gemma Arterton and Stephen Mangan.
An incredible evening of celebration, award-giving and unbelievable live performances, the critically acclaimed Chimerica won five Olivier Awards including Best New Play and Best Director, while The Book of Mormon triumphed scooping four awards, including Best New Musical. Once also made headlines with Zrinka Cvitesic winning Best Actress in a Musical and the production taking away the Autograph Sound Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music.
The BBC Radio 2 Audience Award, the only category voted for by theatregoers, was a closely fought contest between blockbuster musicals Les Misérables, Matilda The Musical, The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. However, coming out on top, Les Misérables took away the Laurence Olivier statuette on the day.
