In The Heights To Make Its London Debut
The West End is in for another Broadway import as the Tony Award-winning In The Heights transfers to the Southwark Playhouse this May.

Boasting an eclectic mix of Latin, salsa and hip-hop music, In The Heights is a journey into New York’s vibrant Washington Heights district centering on the stories of characters living in the lively community. The musical features songs such as Carnaval De Barrio, Hundreds of Stories and Breathe.
Chris Smyrnios, Southwark Playhouse’s Artistic Director, said “In The Heights is a celebration of community and identity, but it is also a chronicle of the challenges facing a neighbourhood on the cusp of change. With Southwark Playhouse sitting at the heart of a passionate community faced with significant redevelopment, it’s an inspiring place to be debuting a new production of this bold piece.”
The rhythmic show will be directed by Luke Sheppard (Matilda The Musical, Singin’ In The Rain) for a four week run. Casting for the show is yet to be announced.
