That Puppet Game Show: A brand new Saturday night entertainment show coming soon to BBC One

BBC In-House Entertainment and The Jim Henson Company have joined forces to bring viewers a Saturday night show like no other called That Puppet Game Show.

Each week two top-name celebrities will be plunged into That Puppet Game Show - a unique world of puppet comedy and madcap games. As the only humans who appear on the show, the celebrity contestants will go head to head in a number of games, each hoping to win £10,000 for their chosen charity. They'll compete in subjects such as sport, science, celebrity, nature, music and mental agility.

Dougie Colon (pronounced cologne) will host the show with each of the individual games run and hosted by a different puppet character, who is an expert in their field. But that's only half the story...

In a unique twist, That Puppet Game Show is the first gameshow to also include a backstage sitcom. It features all the puppet characters that we've met onstage and more, like the producer Mancie and the bullish show executive, Udders McGhee. Combining the comedy traditions of The Jim Henson Company and a top celebrity based gameshow, That Puppet Game Show promises to bring family fun to BBC One.

Host of That Puppet Game Show, Dougie Colon, says: “I can’t wait to get stuck in to the new show. We have a whole host of celebs joining us and I can honestly say that they will have never have seen anything like this before!

Celebrities that will be taking part in the show include Gary Lineker, Claudia Winkleman, Vernon Kay, Katherine Jenkins, Freddie Flintoff and Tess Daly.

That Puppet Game Show will debut on BBC One later in the year.
