The Syndicate: BBC One drama returns for a highly anticipated secondseries

The new series follows a syndicate of hospital workers through their incredible tale of rags to riches over six episodes. The drama twists and turns through a gripping narrative and moves adeptly from heightened emotions to humour in a heartbeat.
Winners Rose (Alison Steadman), Mandy (Siobhan Finneran), Alan (Mark Addy), Tom (Jimi Mistry) and Becky (Natalie Gavin) are all faced with the wonderful yet astonishing experience of instant wealth. Everyone’s experience brings different challenges and as well as the initial joy, there are some dark moments and revelations to come.
On the timely nature of the subject matter, Kay Mellor, writer and producer says: “Ordinary people are struggling and more and more of them are doing the lottery for the chance to lift them out of poverty and debt. It’s fascinating for me to explore how winning the lottery could change their lives.”
