Hit BBC comedy Miranda returns for a third series

After a two-year break from TV screens, award-winning Miranda returns with a brand new, third series this Christmas.

Filmed in front of a studio audience, Miranda can be seen for the first time in its new home on BBC One. Together with the regular cast, this highly anticipated six-episode series includes an array of guest-stars including Gary Barlow, Raymond Blanc and Emma Kennedy.

Written by and starring the much-loved comedian Miranda Hart, the series opens with a Christmas-themed episode and our hapless heroine offers laugh out loud, pure, unadulterated, fun.

Picking up where the last series left off, Miranda and her love interest Gary (Tom Ellis) have agreed to be ‘just good friends’ and so future episodes find Miranda determined to get herself a new man to obsess over and keep her mother, Penny (Patricia Hodge) off her back.

Will Miranda and Stevie (Sarah Hadland) ever be responsible enough to make a real success of the shop? Will Miranda ever attract a man? Will Miranda and Gary finally get together or will they find new love interests and go their separate ways?

Executive Producer Jo Sargent says: “We were so excited to see what this series had in store and Miranda Hart has exceeded expectations with hilarious new material. The whole production has worked so hard to produce something we are all extremely proud of. We were as keen as the audience is to catch up with Miranda and her friends and have loved being part of the process of bringing the stories to life on screen.”

Miranda Hart says: “The first two episodes are quite slow moving establishers compared with previous series and they set up what happens from episode three onwards. There are two new regular characters, quite a few kisses, a couple of celebrity cameos. And that’s all I am saying!”
